DAYZ
What is this game? ITS DAYZ!!!!! Heres the review and overview
I do not like zombies. They do not frighten me, and that's about it. A theme of horror should horrify the audience. However, most of the time zombies are merely funny, silly, awkward, or annoying. They lumber about, smeared in blood and make growly noises. Been there, done that. But what happens when you translate your typical zombie scene from a typical American urban setting to a small village in Russia? O-o.
This is what DayZ is. It's a free mod for ArmA II, currently the finest first person shooter ever made, after its equally awesome predecessor, Operation Flash point. The mod takes you back to Chernarus, where you start as an unarmed dude, against a horde of Russian grannies dripping blood from their canines. What do you get when you combine the two? The best, most frightening bloody game ever made. Follow me.
I have a whole LOT in store for you, when it comes to this game. But let's focus on our first impression. What started as an innocent mod has turned into an epidemics. Literally. DayZ has spiked ArmA II to the top spot on Steam for several months now. There are approx. 1.5 million active users playing the game. And there's going to be a standalone version, most likely any day now. The only thing you need to enjoy DayZ is the original version of ArmA II and its expansion pack Operation Arrowhead. And then, some balls, because this game is scary.
The mod runs in the multiplayer mode, where you and unlucky fellow games across the globe spawn in random locations somewhere in Chernarus, armed with nothing but a bit of food and drink and maybe a weapon, if you are lucky. But there's a fair chance you might spawn barehanded.
So what you have to do is very simple - survive. That's the only objective. Roam the map as you please, do whatever you like. It's open-ended, there are no scenarios or tasks. The only problem is, you might get eaten by zombies, killed by your fellow human players deliverance-style, die from hunger, thirst, exposure, your wounds, and a slew of other reasons. Well, that's your range of problems. I know its not on ps3, but still, its an AWESOME GAME!!

Red dead redemption
Red dead redemption. AMAZING GAME!!! BEST OF 2009, and rock-stars most prestigious Titles!!
The story is You are Blackmailed in 1911 by unscrupulous federal agents into hunting down his former comrades in Dutch van Der Linde’s notorious gang, Marston straddles more than the border between Mexico and the United States. He also stands between the Old West and modernity — between the celebration of the individual and the collective requirements of organized society — as he tries to salvage a family life from the smoldering legacy of his criminal past. Along the way, he and his creators conjure such a convincing, cohesive and enthralling reimagination of the real world that it sets a new standard for sophistication and ambition in electronic gaming.
Like our own, the world of Red Dead Redemption — its cantinas, dusty arroyos, railway stations and cragged peaks — is one in which good does not always prevail and yet altruism rarely goes unrewarded. This is a violent, unvarnished, cruel world of sexism and bigotry, yet one that abounds with individual acts of kindness and compassion. Like our own, this is a complex world of ethical range and subtlety where it’s not always clear what the right thing is. This is a world where revenge often tastes not sweet but bitter, like the dregs at the bottom of a mug long since drained.

Sleeping Dogs
Sleeping Dogs, in its later stages developed at United Front Games and eventually published by Square-Enix, originally began life at Activision as "Black Lotus", an open-world crime game with a female protagonist. However, under the belief that their predominantly male target audience would not play such a game starring a woman, management demanded that the protagonist be replaced with a man, and further tied the previously-unrelated game into the True Crime franchise. However, due to factors such as the poor critical reception and sales of the last True Crime game, True Crime: New York City, and concerns over how the game would perform in the current market, the game underwent a turbulent development cycle. Initially, the game was developed at Luxoflux, but Activision halted development, only to restart the project at United Front Games. The game was initially entitled simply "True Crime", and then changed to "True Crime: Hong Kong".

Borderlands
Borderlands lacks the charm of Fallout 3, Mass Effect, or Half-Life 2, but it does offer a crap-ton of ‘roided-out bandits, effed-up dog things, giant spider demons, and screeching pterodactyl beasts to shoot with a crap-ton of guns. And that’s really what it’s about – finding weapons and shooting things with them. You have to assign a skill point now and then, and there’s kind of a story, but those things don’t matter much. You can skip the text description of every quest in the game, because they will always consist of the following steps:
A. Go somewhere.
B. Kill some shit.
C. Flip a switch or something.
D. Kill some more shit.
E. Success!
It’s a bit like an MMO in that respect. Quest-giving characters yammer like schizophrenic cassette players, barking out the same few lines every time you enter or exit their domicile, and vacantly assign you quests which you will not read the descriptions of. The bulk of the game is a combat grind, and everything else just exists to offer a modicum of structure. And if this all sounds horribly negative, keep reading – Borderlands is not a bad game, and for some, the heavy focus on combat and loot collecting will be a plus (it’s not as if it hasn’t been done before…talking to you, Diablo).
